It has been proven that actor Adam Driver assaulted actress Lidia Franco, his co-star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, when the two were filming the film.

Franco said (translated from Portuguese) during a podcast interview with Radio Comercial’s Era o que Faltava, “I maintain a really negative experience from this picture due of Adam Driver.”

Franco claimed in a podcast interview with Radio Comercial’s Era o que Faltava that she had a horrible memory of this film due of Adam Driver.

She then apparently acknowledged his acting ability while also claiming that he is a nasty guy. Franco, who is 76 years old, went on to declare that the scenario had nothing to do with the attack.

She said it was a disguised attack with a chair. She didn’t go into any greater information about the alleged offence. Franco detailed what happened subsequently, alleging that the production team permitted her to leave the set but that they couldn’t do anything else. She was permitted to depart, but there was nothing they could do legally, she added, as translated on Reddit.

Adam Driver More information about the incident:

Before filming, the actress commented on Driver’s first impression, describing him as “difficult and demanding.” In Spain, one of the things he started doing was insisting that all technicians leave the stage during rehearsals.

He asked for it and continued to do so in Portugal, but she stated that several Portuguese technicians turned him down. I observed at least one of them leave the studio from the back.

He demanded that no one look at him, presumably by law. They automatically fired the extras if they were aiming. And it has taken place. Terry Gilliam (Monty Python) co-wrote and directed The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, which was published in 2018 after decades of being notoriously in creative hell.

In addition to Driver, Stellan Skarsgrd, Olga Kurylenko, Joana Ribeiro, Oscar Jaenada, Jason Watkins, Sergi López, Rossy de Palma, Jordi Mollà, and Jonathan Pryce as Don Quixote.

At this however, neither Driver nor anyone else involved with the film appears to have responded to Franco’s claims. It appears that this is the first time Driver has been accused of something like this.

The actor previously rushed out of an interview on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross after hearing a clip of his film Marriage Story played on his headphones, although no violence was indicated in this occasion.

The driver later verified that he informed producers he didn’t want to hear or watch his own work, and that they advised him when to take off his headphones so the tape wouldn’t be heard.
