Jumanji 4: Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything We Know So Far

Updates on Jumanji 4: Despite initial skepticism surrounding the debut of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, 22 years after the iconic classic’s premiere, the new remake proved to be an intriguing video game take on the board game starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Nick Jonas, Madison Iseman, and Karen Gillan.

The first film, Welcome to the Jungle, made nearly $960 million worldwide, necessitating a sequel. The sequel, The Next Level, released in 2019, was yet another fantastic picture in the franchise, as well as bringing in a huge sum of money, totaling $800 million at the global box office.

Isn’t it true that when something like that happens, you have no choice but to propose another film? One would expect it would happen soon, but Sony doesn’t appear to be planning anything for Jumanji 4 at the time.

Karen Gillan gave a status report on the forthcoming Jumanji film while on Collider Ladies Night to promote her new Netflix flick Gunpowder Milkshake:

“I have no idea what the next one is going to be like.” I haven’t heard from anyone, so I’m guessing I don’t know. However, I hope they create another since it’s a lot of fun.”

All About Jumanji 4

Even though Gillan won’t be appearing in Jumanji 4 anytime soon, she has a lot on her plate. It’s reasonable to anticipate that their jam-packed calendars will need to clear a little before Jumanji is re-released. Plus, considering how the COVID-19 epidemic has influenced the film industry’s production timetables, it’s possible that it has something to do with the longer turnaround times on sequels to famous films.

However, we shouldn’t give up hope for another Jumanji film in the future; considering where the third film ended off, a new episode would be brimming with innovative possibilities.

If you need a reminder, Jumanji: The Next Level closes with Spencer’s mother, Marin Hinkle, having a repairman, Lamorne Morris, come to the house. While working in the basement, this repairman notices an antique gaming board and advances towards it, intending to learn more about it, before cutting to ostriches racing down the street in front of Nora’s café.

So, although Alex Wolff’s Spencer and his pals were sucked into the game in Welcome to the Jungle and The Upcoming Level, it appears that the next film will follow in the footsteps of the 1995 original and release the game’s characters into the real world.

Stay tuned for more from Gillan on Gunpowder Milkshake, her tenure as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more.
