NCIS Season 19 news: Michael Weatherly, who played Leroy Gibs and Ducky Mallard with Mark Harmon and David McCallum, was one of the show’s original characters, appearing in every episode since its CBS premiere.
Agent Tony Dinozzo’s career on NCIS was dominated by his affair with Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who arrived in season three. Despite their ups and downs, the pair eventually found happiness.
According to Season 13, Tony and Ziva had slept together before she left for Israel, where she purportedly died in a mortar attack.
Tony left NCIS to focus on their daughter Tali in Family First, but Ziva rejoined in season 16 after surviving.
To protect Tali and Tony, she claimed to be dead, and when Tony found Ziva was still alive, he urged Tali to join them in Paris, where they now all live.
NCIS Season 19 Tony Dinozzo
Despite previously claiming that she would not return to NCIS, actress Cote de Pablo stunned fans when she announced her comeback in 2019. Because they’re now dating, there’s a good chance Tony will be with her if she returns to the series.
There is yet to be any word on the cast for the upcoming season, including actor Weatherly. There’s also a risk that Weatherly won’t be able to return to NCIS since he’ll be too distracted.
After departing his role as Tony Dinozzo, Weatherly began starring in his own CBS series. He portrays Jason Bull, the primary character, a psychologist and trial science expert who assists clients in picking the best jurors and crafting the best case strategy.
The bull will be in its sixth season, while NCIS will be in its nineteenth. As a result, Weatherly is unlikely to be able to feature in both NCIS and Bull’s most recent seasons.
Tony’s role in Series 19 has yet to be confirmed or denied by CBS and the NCIS producers.
