Osmosis Season 2: Why was the French sci-fi series Osmosis cancelled by Netflix?

Osmosis Season 2 Updates: Osmosis is a French science fiction dramatisation. Osmosis has drawn strong parallels to Black Mirror, which is not surprising considering the storey: Osmosis, a software company owned by Paul and Esther, has developed a case holding an embed that, when ingested, works its way into the mind and, according to the company’s claims, matches people with their ideal spouses.

In one of the post-screening Q&A sessions, Julius Berg, the director of Osmosis, as well as producers Sarah Aknine and Aude Albano, disputed the Black Mirror connection.

Osmosis, according to Aknine, isn’t much of a fantasy series. It’s more of a drama set in the near future. And it’s all about love in this genre. Director Julius Berg noted that no other era has ever seemed so connected but so distant. We’ve lost our ability to love.

Osmosis Season 2: Update

What Was the Reason for the Cancellation? This French-produced sitcom debuted on Netflix with minimal fanfare and never attracted a sizable audience. Netflix decided to cancel the show after one season, but it took over a year to make the announcement.

On May 11, 2017, it was announced that Netflix has approved a production request for an eight-episode first season. Audrey Fouché, who is listed as a major maker, is the creator of the programme.

Osmosis is based on a concept from a previous project of the same name by Louis Chiche, William Chiche, and Gabriel Chiche, which was broadcast on Telfrance and Arte in 2015.

It was announced in February 2019 that Osmosis would premiere on March 29, 2019. According to reports, the production company spent €8 million on the first season, with each episode costing €1 million.

In 2018, headshots for the main season were taken on the spot in Paris. Audrey Fouché said on April 1st, 2019, that she will be leaving the series as showrunner after the first season. Netflix cancelled the programme after one season on January 17, 2020.

Hugo Becker, Agathe Bonitzer, Stephane Pitti, Gael Kamilindi, and Suzanne Rault-Balet were announced as participants in the show in August 2018. Luna Silva, Manoel Dupont, and Yuming Hey were announced as new cast members in February 2019.
