Queen Sono Season 2: Netflix’s original series has been cancelled

Queen Sono Season 2 Updates: Queen Sono, the first South African Netflix original action series, will not be renewed for a second season.

Fans were treated to a highly trained African spy, played by local actress Pearl Thusi, in this series. Later, the sitcom was not renewed for a second season owing to the COVID-19 Pandemic and other internal issues.

Queen Sono Season 1 included some exciting acts that received a 91 percent rating. The series was shot in 37 various locations around the South African continent, including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zanzibar.

The team’s management also sent out a thank-you card to all of the fans across the world who have shown their support for the first African original action series.

Queen Sono Season 2 Renewal Updates

Unfortunately, the Queen Sono Season 2 will not be released because Netflix abruptly cancelled the show. Earlier this year, Netflix hinted at a second season renewal.

The producers had planned to renew the show, however Queen Sono was unable to do so at this time. Viewers are outraged by Netflix’s surprising decision, as the series has garnered a positive rating on the streaming service this year.

The narrative and the performance were both excellent. Despite the streaming giant’s choice not to extend it for the following season, Queen Sono received positive ratings and reviews. The cancellation news was confirmed by the inventor himself via a social media outlet.

Reason for Cancellation of Queen Sono Season 2:

Along with Queen Sono Season 2, Netflix has cancelled a slew of programmes this year.

Many popular shows, such as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Ozark, have already been cancelled by Netflix.

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Netflix decided not to renew the show. Later, the production team opted to discontinue the series due to several issues encountered in this circumstance.

In addition, Kagiso informed Channel 24 that they had written a unique and fascinating tale about the continent that they were unable to bring back owing to the current scenario. This is the primary reason why Netflix chose to cancel the second season.

Queen Sono Season 2 hasn’t finished yet. After the cliffhanger at the end of Season 1, there was far too much suspense. Fans are aware of it during the renewal season, but it has remained awaited.
