Resident Evil Village Updates: In the Resident Evil Village, the story of Ethan Winters and his wife Mia continues. Ethan and Mia have returned to Eastern Europe with their kid Rosemary after a three-year absence.
Chris Redfield opens fire on the pair at dinner in the game’s opening seconds. In front of Ethan, he kills Mia. As a result, Ethan is knocked unconscious, and when he wakes up, Rosemary has been abducted, forcing him on a journey to save his daughter, which leads to the game’s events.
After a time, it’s revealed that the person Chris shot in the resident evil village’s Nitro wasn’t Mia, but Mother Miranda in disguise, attempting to take Rosemary in order to resurrect her own daughter Eva.
Unfortunately, the real Mia is imprisoned and is subjected to Miranda’s experiments in order to discover more about the fungus from Resident Evil 7. Miranda was impersonating Mia for around eight days, according to the timeframe, and Ethan was completely unaware.

As the game progresses, it’s possible that Ethan isn’t the only one who misunderstands Mia’s identity. Both Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village contain clues that point to a difference in Mia’s appearance, particularly her eyes, implying that players have never met the real Mia.
Mia is shown in a different light in Resident Evil 7. Her eyes become brown from the video messages to Ethan warning him away from the boat to being discovered in the Baker Farm Cell to being possessed by Eveline. Players will see a doll that looks like Mia when they explore Mia’s cage in the Baker Farm. Its eyes are blue.

One of the more credible possibilities is that the actual Mia, along with the rest of her crew, died on the Annabelle while developing the e-type bioweapon. After that, Eveline takes over Mia’s persona for the duration of the Resident Evil tale.
Another possibility is that Mia is simply a stolen identity. The real Mia had blue eyes, but the brown-eyed Mia from Resident Evil took her identity to get away from her previous life. This argument also explains why Ethan was oblivious to the fact that his wife’s eyes had altered dramatically in hue.
