Uhtred and Brida were Saxon slaves to Ragnar the Fearless and his family, as we know. Uhtred was soon let free and reared as their family’s adopted son, but the issue remains: What about Brida? Although it was not stated in the episode that she was raised similarly to Uhtred, she continues to live with them and has begun training with young Ragnar to become a Dane warrior.
This series is based on Bernard Cornwell’s Saxons Stories, and one fan went into great detail regarding Brida’s childhood.
Ragnar created Brida, an East Anglian girl, during a raid. Brida and Uhtred were kept as slaves, but their children were permitted to play with them.
They were close friends with Thyra and Rorik, and after Uhtred saved Thyra from being raped by Sven, they began to be treated better like other slaves.
Season 5 shooting is still ongoing, and nothing is known about the narrative. In the final season, Uhtred and Brida are likely to battle it out. There’s also the possibility of delving more into Uhtred and Brida’s connection from childhood to the present.
