Life at the Beginning

Andrew continued to appear in films including “Fresh Horses,” “Weekend at Bernie’s,” and “Kansas” in the later part of the 1980s. He made his Broadway debut in “The Boys of Winter” during this time period as well.

His life has been plagued by struggles with substance misuse. At the age of 12, he says he began consuming alcohol. When he became addicted to alcohol in 1992, he went to rehab. He was able to maintain his sobriety following the completion of this treatment.
Relationships
During the 1990s, Andrew McCarthy decided to do an internet search for his old college girlfriend. Carol Schneider is her name, and they’ve been together for 20 years now. They wed in 1999, had a kid together in 2002, and divorced in 2005; they had one child each. As of 2011, Andrew McCarthy has two children with his wife, Dolores Rice.
Purchasing a Home
Andrew McCarthy sold his Manhattan property for $3.25 million in 2005, according to reports. There are still intact mouldings and mantles in this 161-year-old townhouse.
